0.5 Bar Turbo actuators....
Under advice from Trevor Jasper, I'm seeking to fit 0.5bar turbo actuators on my standard T25 Turbos.
Where do I get them and how easy/hard are they to fit?

Actually not that bad, and actuators are readily available. I've recently refitted actuators when I replaced the exhaust housings. Do an Internet search to find the best price, or just go to one of the suppliers recommended on this forum. Fitment is pretty straightforward, but access is challenging. Located on the turbo bracket by two studs with 10mm nuts. Actuator rod has a threaded eye end which you adjust to half-overlap the post on the wastegate arm. It is retained by a circlip - these corrode and fall off, so worth replacing. Connect the hose to the actuator and you're done. Car should then go on a rolling road to balance the actuators properly. Dom.
I'm afraid it's not quite that simple to change to them from standard. Dom is correct that they are attached to the turbo housing but that is via a bracket and the actuator itself is spot welded to said bracket. Once you remove the bracket from the turbo you then need to remove your old actuator from it - I used a massive chisel and some anger at having to repeat for the other. Then mark the bracket for the studs on your 0.5s, drill & fit. Then follow Dom's advice above. I have a pair of 0.5s that I bought from someone on here if you're interested? They were fitted in error as he ordered 0.7s so they've been on a car for approx 10 miles/2hrs. I bought them, then fitted something else instead. Rob
Quite right Rob, I pulled my standard T25s to check - to be honest I'd probably just buy the bracket rather than try and modify the one spot welded to the standard actuators. Failing that a spot weld cutter (or an end mill) will make light work of removing them. Dom.
