Banana shapped manifolds!
Discussion
I am just about to put my new turbo's on but i'm thinking about sorting out an annoying exhaust blow that i have had since rebuilding the engine last year. i'm not totally sure where the blow is coming from but i had noticed that the surface of the manifold that comes in to contact with the engine is not flat but has a slight curve to it. is this normal?? is it a good idea to get it skimmed or something??
also for a fix on turbo nuts coming undone is it copper washers that people use with the standard nuts or change the nuts for a copper replacement?

I had the same issue..i just had mine milled...they guy who milled them was whinging because i did not tell him they were stainless steel...i did not know the stock manifolds were SS..the exhaust guy who strengthened them also said the same and used SS welding wire...see if your guy says the same or whether these guys in Cyprus are getting mixed up..

Mine was stainless chris, I think a cheap grade which is why they age.andygtt said:
I have had 3 sets of stock manifolds and they were all stainless.
Also had the issue with them not being dead flat... never bothered to correct it as it was slight on mine.
After removing mine i can see where they have been blowing at each end. I had gussets dressed over and welded on last year so maybe that disstorted them! Also had the issue with them not being dead flat... never bothered to correct it as it was slight on mine.
