help needed please

I forgot to add- the strange thing is last year my boost was set too high it was making this pipe pop out. And when it poped out the car would rev to 4000 rpm on idle. But at the mo the wont run until i pull this pipe out and when i do, it doesn't rev to 4000 but runs fine. how is this right?? could it be the pipe is blocked??

Just traced the pipe. it goes to the brake servo.
..then just try blanking it off, it seems the manifold vacuum pressure is obviouly adffecting whatever that pipe is going to...what does that vacuum pipe or breather go to? map sensor?It really sounds like you have another vacuum pipe loose or a leak, on the 2.5 do you have the pipe that if pushed to far it stop the air flow? as if mine is out it will over rev, but if to far in it will cause the car to stall. so I'm thinking maybe is to far on so when you take the servo one off it then allows more air into the system which then corrects the other vacuum pipe not getting enough air, I'm no mechanic but had a simular prob. Just a thought. If you do have that pipe try putting the servo one back on and play with the othe when pushing it in and out just to elimate that as the cause.

Craig's correct in that the extra air is leaning out the over-rich mixture caused by the map sensor not seeing the vacuum from the inlet manifold and correctly adjusting the fuelling to compensate. As a result of this extra air, the mixture is better and the engine runs well.
It probably isn't the lambdas, I suspect you've just not got the pipes on exactly the way they came off. Should be a simple fix, but not necessarily simple to locate
Edited to add: Check the pipework and electrical connections to the idle bypass valve on the rear part of the manifold. If this is not working, your engine probably won't run...
