Well it's already half a second quicker(on paper) than a GTO3R to a hundred, given it already has an additional 500ish cc's to play with I suspect it will be easier to tweak some extra out of for a lot less £££.
Harris says it's as close to a GT3 as he has driven for a long while and with a projected ring lap time of 7:50 what's not to like?

The rear end! Looks like Stevie Wonder designed it!

Quite but the Noble is not exactly the most stunning example of automtive aesthetics either, don't get me wrong I'd have a NEW M400/ M12 (with the usual bugs fixed) today, but sadly Noble are attempting to move up market and aren't really interested in the "affordable sector" these days.
The Lotus just looks like it "could" fill the gap left behind, with a few tweaks 440BHP has been mooted and there's always the 4 litre derivative engine in the background.
Not going to be as "exclusive" as a Noble though.

I have to say that I love this car.

I plan to wait a couple/Few years when they have dropped (I hope) down to a mid to late 20's range when I shall get one.

I feel its a modern Noble and will be less of an issue owning one than the current Noble design.

By this time there will be simple upgrades that will get this easy to 400bhp, which is perfect for me.

0-60 is 3.8 am I missing something, that is fast in my book! I think some people are getting confused with the 0-100 time of 8.5 as that is what was quoted.

I quite like this I have to say.

£53k. 1 second off the Car&Driver M400 0-100 and quicker than the original M12 (which was also ~53k new), and it finally looks a bit more purposeful. Get's my view of a M12 replacement vote on just reading Harris' article.

I really like it even in green, would like to see it in some other colours though. Like the new shape and the electric gizmos are clever, only thing that lets it down is engine noise in that film sounds crap and perhaps space in the car.

Performance wise it seems to have plenty beef, it ticks a lot of boxes!

It's the first new car under 130k that's got me thinking for a long time.
As I was reading the article I was thinking this is what Lee should have done.
So well done Lotus. Will keep watching this one and drive as soon as I can.
Hope y'all are doing well. Must get back here more often!

I like it, it has great potential for being reliably tweaked whereas the old models needed the engine swapping out to get into decent power.
I think it will make a great replacement/alternative for the M12 range.

Has anyone noticed the weight of the thing? The noble is lighter (100kg) and probably more tuneable with the turbos.

Noble gto3R 1080 KG without aircon M400 1060KG without aircon both quoted dry. So well north of 1100kg with the fluids and air con.
Lotus 1176KG is indeed lardier, but with all the restrictions /regulations placed of a modern day volume manufacturer not too bad and all this with the luxury of wheel arch liners, wiper drip trays and vanity mirrors wink

If the Noble had to have air bags and "proper" impact structures all round I think it would be in the same ball park.
The other nice thing is the Lotus should (cautiously) work straight out of the box and not need continual fettling.

Yeah, probably not a fair dig to be honest! lol its just intresting that it weighs the same but you would expect it to be lighter. be intresting to see where the tuning take these cars. Not really seen much going off with the V6s but im sure there will be simple upgrades to get more power out of them.
