Front Lower Ball Joint
Discussion
Hi Rob
I recently replaced the bottom ball joints on my car, the only difference is I did them in situ.
I did find that the boss on the ball joint was too large to fit into the wishbone cup, as I was using the same Firstline product as yourself.
I removed 0.055 off the O/D of the ball joint, I have enclosed photo's and a quick rough drawing to help (all sizes are in imperial)

Hi Martin
Thanks for the clarification, I had images of the entire flange needing to come off.
Car went through the MOT (hooray!!!) with just an advisory on the LHS ball joint but they are being replaced along with new bearings and hubs I had also bought (trying to eliminate vibrations which turned out to be from a faulty tyre), heard that my guys got one done yesterday but didn't have time to do both. I'll find out if they needed to do anything when I pick it up. Might be worth putting that before and after photo on the wiki?
Cheers

Unfortunate timing as I had ordered some just minutes before your post time (although have only just seen it). I'm surprised at 49mm as neither of the sites I looked at list that as a standard option and it seems on the small side although I'm trying to judge dimensions from about a 45% segment as the rest went into orbit and the other one is back on the car and wheel in place. I had actually ordered 50,51 and 52mm (from bearingboys)which I thought would cover the options and be on the safe side. They should arrive tomorrow so let's see but thanks again for your advice.
