Opening a can of Worms
Discussion
Wright first of all sorry to all who wrote on last thread, I wasnt in best of mouds SORRY.
5 Weeks ago i blew my gearbox sky high and went about replacing it. When i took the engine out i opened another can of worms on the car. The rear supframe had started going rustie and the fuel pump wires from the ecu to multiplug on rear bulk head had burnt out, So i set about correcting these issues.
You would think after owning the car for 2 years my proplems would of stoped by now. I have replaced everything but the kitchen sink on the dam Motor and im sure plenty of you have had the same issue's. Anyways heres some pictures of the rear space frame and the new loom i made last night for 044 bosch pump and my gearbox cooling pump. The pictures of the loom aint the best but will upload better 1s later. Loom was done out of thinwall .

Loom picture aint the best at mo stupid Nokia phone. Will take somepropeir pictures today and upload them later of loom. I can make any fuel looms , fan looms etc in house.

Nicer thread ....No seriously well done on the apology peeps here looking are purely interested with best intentions and advice but after all its your car to do what you like with
. Think you might of picked up a vibe that dont exist, can be easy done if not used to forum convo,s and when its your own vehicle its easy to be a bit protective over it lol........ Anyways nice loom there , how was it done and rigged up and what fuse rating are in the circuit? How long did it take i might do one for the Dagenham Dustbin .
Get that floor painted

Took about 3 hours in all but i did have to sort few issues out first. 30AMP relay with 30 amp fuse, wire is up to 32amp thinwall.
lets not forget that it was my blunt comments that cause the can of worms to spill over... when its your own car it VERY easy to take things the wrong way especially when you have spent hours and hours slaving over it and then taken the time to share your work... I caused offense and I am also sorry as I wasnt meaning to.
anyway....
What you have done is very similar to me, I stripped mine and primer & painted the whole chassis and then had a whole new engine bay loom made in high quality thin loom wire.
Also, it all started with me removing the engine to replace the gearbox LSD

Wright .. gauge of wire too small and fuse too big and heat wrap Will trap moisture.. agreed??...
...

Don't know about the wire, but isn't the fuse too big Will?
I would have expected 20A rather than 30A?

Graham
Being a cosworth freak in my spare time and using a Bosch 044 i just wired it up the same way as i do with them, and msd do the same, And ian @ harness engineering does the same so im just follow the top 2 guys i know for loom work. 30 amp relay with 30 amp fuse I would have expected 20A rather than 30A?

Graham

Interesting.I'm no electrical engineer, but I would have thought that a 30A relay is rated UPTO 30A max, so the fuse should be lower?
I have 2 044's on mine and they both have 20A fuses.

Just done bit of research for 5 mins and yes a 20amp fuse is perfect. Bosch 044 draws 14.8 amp. Going to change that 1 tomorrow.I'm no electrical engineer, but I would have thought that a 30A relay is rated UPTO 30A max, so the fuse should be lower?

I must say never had any issues with 30amp fuse ever in all the looms ive done.
