Here are a couple of pics of the new interior door handles, not really what i had in mind but with limited resurces over here getting what i wanted fabricated was a problem, i had to ghet rid of the plastic door handle and the cover for the old window winder aperture as they were really bothering me.

I wouldn't want to catch my elbow on that in a crash!

Some of the stuff you do Chris looks quite nice. This however looks like something nicked out of a disabled toilet, and as Adrian says in a crash it'd hurt you.

Chris I think it's great that you've tried something new but having read the disabled toilet comment I'm afraid I have to agree.
Do you think it might have been possible to mount the flat pieces to the inside of the panel and then attach the grab via a couple of small grub screws for instance? That way you could anodise the grab black or highly polish it perhaps?

lol you hit the nail on the head Phil i knew there was a reason it was bothering me, i totally agree to be honest as its not really the look i was after, i think i will get it painted or CF wrapped and it may lose that handrail type feel.

all comments taken on board thankyou, i agree with the SS finish it was identicalk to the helper handle in a disabled toilet, granted that i may bang my elbow and swear.

Before with plastic finger bin,

with disabled toilet handle

and with it painted black.

Its not exactly what i was after but for the time being is something i can live with, it also feels good and solid in hand whilst closing the door which again like fixing the vibrating wing mirror is one of thse things that just gives a more heavy/well built feel to the car.

You need to hide the top and bottom plates behind the leather, and move the whole thing forward 30-50mm. The idea's good, the application is... less good.

I agree Chris.smile..i can get stuff made over here but the problem is getting stuff made that is good.

The plate i need to sort something as it was also bothering me, the bottom plate is too big, i think i may build some fibreglass around this at the base to give it a tapered affect, i.e. going from thick at the base and getting thinner as it goes up, i have something to build from now at least, i can glue a block of foam onto the base and around the handle for being shaped and tapered. What do you think?

It had to be on top though for the sandwich detail, it has studs welded to the back for fixing, i fix the butterfly nuts through the speaker hole, but i think if the plate tapers into the tube it should not look so bad?

Snuffy, damn you beat me to it smile..until next time..shoot

Looking good in Black clap but as someone earlier said would you like the sharp edge of the base plate pushed into your right arm if, god forbid, you had a side impact?

Cheers Rob.

About the side impact and elbow thing though, i am not so worried, well i am but what i mean is..if i ever see a car coming to impact the side of my car then i will just lean forward to try and kiss my ass goodbye. In fact the car would disintegrate and i would just be left holding onto that handle..lol
