It's finally let me down!
Done a search as I've seen this on a thread before, but can't locate it.
Battery light came on,and as I slowed it cut out. Pushed it into a parking space and 15 minutes later it started and off I went, albeit with battery light still on. Five miles on,Speedo goes mad ( showing 100mph when it was about 65mph) come to a junction and it dies again, never to start again. AA take three hours, but here's the good bit. I had no less than 13 cars stop to see if I needed help( I'll concede it's a small village and I knew 6 of the them), but what other marque would get that? Amongst these believe it or not was a Noble Techie who knows our Mr. Yellowshed, and also a guy apparently that works from a Noble office in Leeds???? ( Didn't know they had one). The only downside was the 3 pricks who shouted from a dustbinlidexhaust 500 quid piece of crap who strangely didn't turn round when I stod up and beckoned for them to turn around.
Never had so much fun parked ona roundabout!
By the way, anyone got ideas on the problem?

Was there a race track in the same county, Nobles have a habit of throwing a wobbly at the mere thought of a race track !

Andy,

i suspect it is alternator, if it was a short in the electrics then after it cut out first time then it would not have restarted, maybe it was running on pure battery when you restarted it thats why it wold not start after second cut out because battery was drained..

At least it wasnt the exhaust that let you down...;)

When I read the title of this thread I fully expected you to say it was for sale! I have no idea what could be wrong but I'm pleased it wasn't the news I envisaged biggrin

Heat damaged loom from the alternator where it passes closest to the front exhaust downpipe area.

Andy,
I saw you (as per spotted post) parked on the roundabout, sorry I didn't come over and see if there was anything I could do. I was a bit shagged from my 15hour night shift frown
Hope it's sorted soon...

No probs at all,and certainlyno need to apologise.See you have a VX2020, were you coming away from Danbury and then onto the London bound A12, as there was what looked and sounded like a tricked up one that went that way?
