Water Leak from alloy hose connector

Hi. My car has developed a slight water leak. I have tracked the leak down to an Alloy hose connector, mounted to the right and below the expansion tank. The hose connector (junction box) appears to have 5 hoses connected to it. Has anyone got any idea where I can get hold of a new unit ?

Common place to lose coolant. Unlikely that the ali block will need replacing. Much more likely to be perished hoses (perhaps nipped up too tight). If you can, replace them with silicon hose.

Unlikely to be the junction box. It is more likely to be the rubber hoses have split because of the rubbish jubilee clips holding them on to it. It's a common problem and most have replaced theirs with silicone hoses and better clips. There are quite a few posts on it, but as usual the search function is down.

Whilst at it you may as well check your radiator is ok. I had a small leak on a perished pipe and it turns out that my rad was also split. I was topping up the coolant every week.

The coolant returns from the turbos always go hard and leak at the jubilee clips, if you try to tighten them they will spit, basically the pipes are perished and need replacing..the one going to the front rad will also be the same..

Thanks for the replies guys. Do you need to take the floor of to change the hoses to the Rad ?

Its the 10mm pipe that goes to the top of the rad .. you can do it from the louvre access panels and either end of the tunnel, remove the fans and shroud at the front to allow access, cut all cable ties.
Tie the new pipe to the end of the old and carefully start to pull and feed it through..
If you struggle then you have missed a cable tie, get your arm up into the tunnel and feel around, it can be a little bit tight in there but you should be able to squeeze your hand past/inbetween the pipes, to make it easier you can cut the pipe in the middle and pull new pieces either way

Thanks R0162. So, it looks like I need 8m of 9.5 / 10mm silicone hose. 4m for the engine bay and 4m to run to the Rad. Pirtek is referred to in a number of the related threads, but I can not see any silicone hose in their catalogue. Is it best to call them ?.

If you feel inclined to replace all your hoses (as its only a matter of time before you'll need to anyway) you could do worse than contact Tim at ACT. He does full silicon kits for the entire car.
