digital displays

I was thinking about changing my crappy classic looking gauges for digital..anybody got any information on these, or recommend any other?

or maybe just go for separate round digital gauges, as i have heard the all in ones can be a bit of a pain to set up and means changing sensors but i may have to do that anyway.

Just fitted a set of SPA dual gauges on my car, ok if you can handle digits over analogue, I did it because I wanted to minimise the number of clocks to look at, the SPA dual guages also have hi / lo alarms with switching outputs to control G/box oil pump or auxilliary fans etc.
Tachometers are also cool and have a digital display for boost, oil, MPH etc they also have built in shift lights and turn the needle red at pre-defined rpm as well as peak re-calls.

I've gone for the ST8110SR, had one in my Ultima and not only does it look better than everything else IMHO but it only fashes up values when they go above/below your own presets... does boost and fuel pressure.
its serial line linked to my Motec so that all the values come from that (other than fuel level and wheel speed)

AIM do a lot of nice stuff - compatible with many aftermarket ecu's

probably a good mod if you upgrade the ecu

I had one of those on a bike once, really liked the anologue rev counter, but found the digital hard to read on a bike.
Do these have switched outputs for the hi / lo alarms that can be used to activate relays etc?
I have had a look on the stack site but haven't found that information, could be a winter project in the offing.

The race tech dash is very nice, but I hope you will have a better experience with support then I'm having in The Netherlands (for my E36 BMW)
They just never pick up the phone or return calls.
Even Matt & Dave are far better in that area, and that should warning enough

Thanks for all the replies...i did some research..the second choice which was the race tech i heard can be a royal pita to setup..
The stack one is nice and gets god reviews but just would not go with what i have planned..

I looked at all the others also..lots of choice out there..but the one Alex posted a link to is definitely exactly what i was looking for..as i also want to wire in all the center console lights, i.e. alternator, indicator etc... which allows mt to get rid of the tacky lights on the centre console as i also want to rework this area..
i may just end up with a daddysumo CF cover with just an engine start button and a lcd on it, but i definitely want to convert the air con to digital control..(not the 2 side ones i.e.heat and air direction which worked by cable as i have already sorted these and the controls are no longer functional)

not sure they have outputs to switch relays etc... they have a warning light on the dash and it shows in the digital display.
Im using the ecu to drive the stack so if i want other functions id use the ecu output rather than the stack.... it can record lap times etc etc so so can the ecu so i'm going to be spoiled by choice of monitoring how slow I am lol.

Must say on the bike I cant read anything but my rev counter lol... just to much of a focus change from the road to the display, its periferal or nothing I find.

Now I have the M5 it has a heads up display that shows a rev counter and digital speedo so Im even more used to this configuration... and I have made a dash binnacle that puts it in plain sight.

I've been in contact with Steve from aim sports, he's confirmed that the MXL road dash will work with the MBE 975B dash, apparently they all use the same protocol. There's a road version too, so you can move most of the warning lights off the centre console and onto the dash itself :-)
