clearing adaptive map

plug on lambda sensor had come loose, therefore not working, not sure how long it had been like this, plugged back in now working fine,
Car still seems to be running rich, soot spots on back of car, do i need to clear adaptive map by pulling main fuse for 30 secs as described in manuel or will this make no difference, Thanks, Duncan

yep disconnecting the ECU does work, but we left it for a couple of hours..

You're not thinking of clearing logged fault codes, are you ?

Many ECUs will log faults for say 30 ignition cycles, so if you get a fault that goes away, it wont be stored forever. But I'm fairly sure the Nob ECU doesn't log faults anyway.

i think thats for ecu to learn new throttle position..whereas it learns new position immediately if adaptive map is reset..
