Rad fan switch
Has anyone tried to plug it in manual mode also keeping the factory system?

Here is very hot and many do on the lotus...
I know that ours is not Lotus but I prefer to do it too.

My 2.5 orginally was controoled by a thermo switch in the pipe work. I just plumbed in a switch that shorted it out so the fans came on. I did this due to the switch always failing.

I couldn't imagine there would be any problem in you putting a switch in to create the signal that the ECU gives. I think you would need to find out what signal that is though. You might even be able to go into the software and change the temp the fan comes on?

You can indeed change the on and off temperature switching points of the fans via the ECU.

And if you want on later cars, change the temp gauge so it actually shows the rear temp, rather than a "flatlined" version that sits at 90C.

Here air it's from 28C° to 37C°... keep engine and car cold it's hard!
I have a very slow road and operations back and forth to enter the garage (frequently after a long and hot ride)
Fans always kick on when I'm in the garage, if I could switch them on the street then I could turn off the engine with a calm mind!

What about this gipsy style solution?

Positive wire -> switch -> connect to positive wire in fan relais?
To add an "optional" signal to relais....
