Trolley jack and sundries

Sorry, I know this one has been asked before. I've gone through all the posts back to last October and can't find the original thread.

Some wheel weights fell off one of my lovely new Speedline alloys last night.

Luckily I spotted it after reversing the car out the drive.

So instead of taking the whole car to an outlet to get a wheel balanced I figured it's about time I tool up my garage for this.

Can anybody please recommend a decent trolley jack, wheel brace, torque wrench and possibly axle stands?

I'll obviously have a shop around but it would be good to hear what everyone else is using.

Off the top of my head - check out Costco (assuming membership access) for the trolley jack as their (US manufactured) one has a low home position (c. £80), Halfords professional torque wrench is recommended by many (c. £50). Others I don't have but am interested in axle stands for myself - or those bags that you drive over and pump up (good for long-term storage) - anyone know what I mean?

Excellent, cheers. Spotted the halfords torque wrench. Will look at Costco too.

Need to look at protective alloy wheel sockets too.

This is getting expensive to get a wheel balanced - perhaps the other option is better !

Mee too - for the Merc and Pork - they seem to go rusty fast

Are you using Ti wheelnuts on steel studs?

Says it's out of stock and no expected time to restock - did they stop making it - the concept just looks "dodgy" to me of using exhaust gases to inflate it....?

There's the potential potential for galvanic corrosion between two dissimilar metals, you have three including the wheel itself giving a three way mix as it were.
There is also potential for thread galling, I have used Ti fastners with steel before that have galled and torque readings are thrown out.
The issue being that the item(s) being fixed may not have full load pressure of the fastner upon them as the threads bind and produce their own resistance.
Not major issues if assembled carefully and you don't live near the coast but worth keeping an eye on.

Thanks Tony, I was meaning a bag, or similar, that I could drive onto to not ony raise the car but to leave on/up permanently (i.e.: to relieve tyre flat spotting)?
