Well, after much deliberation and a very late booking at 23:30, I decided to go to Cadwell with my car. What a great day. Did about 1.5 tanks of fuel, however many laps that equates to and from a fairly cautious start of the day seemed to be one of the fastest things out there by the end.

Met MrPBailey in his White 3R and made friends with Simon (C1RVY) and his passenger John in a green Exige with whom I swapped rides in the afternoon.

So, here's a vid. My only vid because I forgot to charge my GoPro! rolleyes

But yeah, epic day, car unscathed apart from a squeaky FR suspension link, brakes fine, even my tyres lasted! Did manage to drive 14 miles before remembering my rear numberplate was behind my passenger seat though!!!

Was a great day on saturday, despite a couple of little problems with my car, HT leads deciding to come off 2 cylinders was a bit of a surprise. Then towards the end of the day sprung a small drip from the power steering fluid reservoir. Managed to get through 2 & 1/2 tanks of fuel, 2nd tank lasted a grand total of 62 miles smile
Cadwell is an excellent track!

Couple of video's

the fluid coming from power steering is a regular occurence on the track for US cars, I dont know for UK one though.

Good tip is to put a sweat band over the top. This doesn't stop it breathing but it catches it and stops it spraying all over the engine bay. 😉

I've not heard of the power steering thing before, so it's common on our UK cars too?
On mine it seems to be leaking from the small length of flexi hose from the reservoir to the fixed steel pipe? Hopefully the pic explains where I mean better. Also had a bit of oil around the cap so possibly leaking(breathing) a bit there too?
Was going to replace this bit of silicone hose, or am I wasting my time as it will still leak?

I was at Cadwell on Wednesday night, passenger in my mates Golf. Monsoon type rainfall caused a tree to snap in half & land on the track that has probably been there for centuries. A tractor had to be deployed to remove it back over the barrier.
Then to cap it off an hour later a car set on fire at the same place the tree fell, the bend before mountain, burst into flames & melted the track. Game over...

Yup, if you do a lot of enthusiastic steering you can pump it out of the top of the system.

What ATF fluid are people using then? Think I best start taking some with me on track days

Cadwell is a great circuit, right up there with Oulton Park.

Have to be careful on the exit of Charlies though and not do this!
