Anyone tried Accusump on Noble?

Just wondered if anyone had tried one? Might be a cheaper solution for the guys without TDS, and belt and braces for those with.

Used one on a very small kit car which had a deep, wide and baffled sump on a cross-flow but suffered surge on fast corners - you don't want to see the oil light at that point!; 1 Accusump, 0 pressure problems.

Note that Rossion are using one on the 2 litre race car.

they are used a lot in race cars - even those that already have a large sump

definitely a save the engine device

something like slick 50 will also save the engine in the event of loss of oil pressure, you can run the engine with no oil for a limited amount of time !

I know the Ultima guys say a dry sump is the better solution to the oil starvation problem.... having said that if the accusump is the best you can do its not going to hurt things!

Paul Cundy tried fitting one years ago but couldn't get it to work properly, why bother when the track sump works without issues.
Otherwise do it properly & dry sump.

the Noble V6 has proved it doesnt need it if it has the winged sump.... Ultimas etc do need it.

As Kev says, if you want belt and braces then dry sump is the way to go otherwise winged sump is more than adequate for road and track,

good point... you would end up with an overfilled engine on tickover.

I have an accusump fitted to my LSX ultima good for pre-oiling on start up but haven't seen it activate when using the car hard around corners.
The 2litre rossion will have enough oil pressure to stop the accusump spilling it's contents at tickover.

Had one on my Ultima .... Hated it , always overfilled at tickover and a constant pain in the backside at oil changes !!!!!

As Adrian says Noble engines tickover oil pressure is 10-12 lbs and the automatic Accusump releases at 15 psi = overfilled engine at tickover. They will work if you have the manual version and remember to charge it properly and then turn it on and off each time you leave and enter teh pit lane.
