Hi

Quick question: the upmarket bacofoil glued to the underside of the rear clam directly above the engine is beginning to peel away at one edge. Otherwise its not in bad condition. Anyone know what's the best product to use to re-fix it? Or shall I just get a new one, and if so where from?

I'd have searched if I could...

Cheers.

High temperature impact adhesive - a decent motor factors should be able to sort you out.

I ordered a new one about a month back and have left it off as visually it looks dire and the new one wasn't much better, it cost about £75 if memory serves. It looks far cleaner and nicer without it and I notice quite a few Noble's online do not have them either, I notice a few of them are from the USA so it may be preference or not as standard but it does look nice IMO. I've not experienced any issues not having it on and all the glue etc was removed without trace. Looks wise, I personally prefer not having it but time will tell if I put the new one on.
The other aspect is on my 3R someone has done one incredibly well compared to the standard one.

Thinner and visually more appealing compared to standard.

Jetstream just done this to my car. Looks a lot better than the spongy stuff.

Wasn't that expensive. From memory around £65.

Thanks, that does look very tidy. But that wasn't the heatshield I meant! I was talking about the one that sits on the underside of the clam itself and is positioned right above the engine when the clam is closed.

Ahh I see. The sound deadening strip as it's sometimes called and the heat strip which some refer to it as are often mixed up.
