Alarm siren

All of a sudden after leaving car for a couple if weeks, the siren has stooped working. All alarm function are working just no noise.

Any ideas?

When stuff like this happens to my car, I tend to try one of many things including:

• looking at it a different way
• Native American rain dance
• Eating something different for breakfast the next day

And then, magically, the next time I try it it'll work again. It's full of 'character' you see.

The thing is, I tried that as I'm sure it's done it before and then just magically repaired itself. This time it's been doing it since Friday. Doors still lock so ill sort it out one day. Lol

Martin, what happens if you drive around the block and then set the alarm off deliberately, set it and then lift the rear clam

Drove it to work Friday and back. Also set it and let it go off. Indicators went off but no noise so it just seems to be the siren. Isn't the siren part of the alarms electrics or is that a different box. I think I have a spare alarm (same type) somewhere.

I was thinking maybe the backup battery is dead, the siren is a pita to get to

My alarm has had the same problem and hasn't made a sound for a few years now. But that could be because the siren is sitting next to my computer, and im prety sure its not ment to be wireless. I removed it to look for a make and model no. so i could phone the company and order a new siren. They weren't playing ball and wouldn't supply me with a new one when i asked. they insisted that they needed an engineer to have a look at the old one first to see whats wrong with it. So if you do have any luck getting a new one let me know Bondy and ill have another go at getting one as im sure my insurance would have something to say about it.

Auto watch sold me a new one with no issues, mine was playing up so the mechanic just cut it off, it took me ages to work out why the alarm never went off.

When I first got the car 7yrs ago my interior sensors didn't work and kept setting alarm off. Went to a autowatch approved engineer and he called them and got my free sensors along with the rest of the alarm.

The alarm is a autowatch 160rli/t. Maybe find one second hand and use the siren?

Just checked my data. Battery backed up siren part number is 178004

They didnt want to sell me one. maybe they were having a bad day. i even told them that the siren is partly melted so im sure thats the problem.

Maybe i will try auto watch again and be a bit more persuasive this time

Pretty certain when mine broke (same symptons) I bought mine from abacus alarms...

Well, that part number on that site matches the part number on my paper work. I just need to find my spare alarm as it sounds like maybe siren has given up. If I can't find my spare kit then thanks for the link.
