Do the handles squeak when you pull them?

When you start driving these cars, you wouldn't care where the parts come from as long as they function. If you're worried about cheap interior parts, then you're missing the point of the M12. Plus simple parts usually last longer and are easier to fix/replace.

Low mileage or not, according to the advert it's only had 3 services in 10 years!

Not worried at all! Just good to see the BL parts bin being raided ! I grew up with maestros so that squeak is a familer and almost comforting noise!

This would concern me as a road going car!

my car has had more oil changes and wheel alignments than its been washed but the service book only says 5 services in 7 years. I don't intend on selling though.

Not necessarily IMHO as there are more important considerations than a stamp in a book - if a car does low miles per year, has had the oil changed yearly and the brake fluid every two years, and shows evidence of being pampered all its life, then there's no need to issue a £1000 annual cheque - what would they be servicing exactly?!

I realise this one always stirs up stated rationale from all sides...

I said concerns, not rule it out completely.

My point being, this person may not have done any extra oil changes or maintenance checks for dodgy ball joints or wheel bearings, there are buyers out there who wouldn't even think to check and end up with a dog... Unless there is paperwork to prove otherwise I'd be expecting a full major service as part of the sale.

Agreed on that - I'd also look for a recent service AND a new MOT rergardless of whether it is due.

Speaking of cheap plastic parts.. Anyone know what the door pulls came from? The ones that slot into the door card and have ford displayed on? Thanks
