parked up for winter? go and move

So parked the noble up in october to avoid the snow we had up here it sat in my garage dry for 4 weeks. Took it out for a hoon in the wet 3 weeks ago (so hadn't moved for 4 weeks or so. anyway all was fine put it away tried to dry the discs as much as possible. Nice weather yesturday, starts up fine reverse out the garage to a sliding noise. The front left wheel had locked. It has done it before and usually loosens off after a bit of backward and forward. It didn't. Right down the road that'll free it up, smoke starts comming from the tyre still locked solid, bugger. Dumped the car 100m from the house ran back got wood and a hammer to try and shock it loose jumped in the pug drive down back but still no luck. So jack the car up and i can't see any damage to the tyre due to the muck it had dragged along. Need to get the car back to the house at which point i got a bit frustrated at losing what would be a nice drive weaved down the road into the driveway.... POP. Game over phoned my mechanic to update him and order 2 new eagle f1s.

The only saving grace is that i was planning on replacing the fronts as they were 3 winters old even though they have barely been touched treadwise.

Moral of the story move your car at least once a week.



also any aberdeen noble owners able to lend me a front wheel just so once the brake is free'd i can get the car to the garage? It would be 10 miles of use and save me alot of hassle.

Now that tyres gone it might give it that extra grip for it to free off rocking the vehicle forwards and backwards and rocking the steering.
If not remove the wheel, take out the 2 bolts holding the caliper on the hit the caliper as though your taking it off the disc with wood or a soft mallet. That should free it then knock it back and put the 2 bolts back in.

My rears stuck on the other day but came off as soon as I jacked it up (that was with it parked with the handbrake off)

Also not put the car away wet and then leave it. My MX5 stays out if it's been driven in the wet until it's dried out and driven, also is always parked up in gear with the handbrake off. My Noble can sit in the garage for weeks with no problem with sticky brakes, it's the wet that's caused it.
