Hi everyone, i seem to be getting somewhere with my noble search however the noble i am intrested in is a 3R with all M400 parts fitted from factory. On a standard 3R im getting quotes of around £660 and on a standard M400 im getting quotes of £680 however when i try to explain this particular car to the insurers to cover my own back they can not quote me on it even though it was factory fitted. I have tried CCI & Mannings UK like you all recommend however im not 25 yet so they cant insure me are there any other insurers that you can recommend?

surely you should insure it as a 3r as stated in log book do the factory upgrades need to mentioned
I had thought that myself but if anything where to happen which im sure it wont as ive been saving for it for 3 and half years im sure they would use this as a get out clause to not pay outNebby said:
That's what I would do says 3r on long book so insure it as a 3r, how many people would be able to say that's got 400 bits on it if your not enthusiast?
I completely agree, but its alot of money down the drain if they do have someone check it out that knows there stuff (i realise it is very unlikely). I would say that nearly all nobles have had some sort of modification in some way just to get over the common issues which arnt always declaredDoes depend on how you look at modifications i.e, heavily modified power output then yes I would declare it, general mods to make the easier to drive & live with then no. Change of bodywork like completely different spoilers bumpers wheels interior stereo systems stuff that's all very visual then yes declare it, seen it happen when I was working in the trade in a repair body shop & cars would come with non original bits and it was never a problem when discovered they were not declared. Just my personal view on it & I've not had a problem in 24 years of driving non standard cars!!
I would insure it as a 3r as it states in the log book as all alterations where done at the factory, therefore standard, all the cars differ in one way another and changes were made as they built them, ie LSD, track day sump etc, yours is just a very late 3r and probably could have ended up an m400,

That mods does it have??, if M400 spec I guess its had the turbos, fuel pump, remap and intercooler upgraded. The only person who will know the difference between a 25 and 28 turbo would be a specialist, same with the intercooler, I would put it down as in the log book.I wouldn't propose insuring it as a 3R in the knowledge that it has the upgrades. In the, albeit unlikely, event that there was a high 3rd party claim (permanent personal injury etc), then the insurance company would do everything they can not to pay out. Agree that they wouldn't bother for small issues or even a right-off. Still not worth the risk of a high claim.
Try Admiral Multi Car (if you have another) or Bell. Both insured me with upgrades when I was under 25.

That's is my concern and with a relative working in insurance and the stories I hear of non pay out claims I'm very wary of just putting it down as a 3rTry Admiral Multi Car (if you have another) or Bell. Both insured me with upgrades when I was under 25.

I still stand by the fact they are from the factory and therefore not an upgrade, I had a fiesta with wolf sport upgrade installed by ford and the insurance accepted that it was original and did not load the premium,
It is what it is, as the factory made it, not a modified car !
Is it crystal topaz by any chance?
