Could anybody please tell me how can I access the wiring tunnel? I need to go under the gear shift.

There is a very small access hole one the left side of the car behind the seat inside of tunnel... Largest holes are the ones under the car that daddysumo mentions.

It's a very hard place to get to I'm aftaid

If you have an M400, you can get to that area from inside the car by removing the padded part on top of the tunnel, peeling the carpet off the tunnel, unbolting the plate covering the shifter cut out, then unbolting the gear shift and pulling it up, out of the top of the tunnel. Unfortunately, the M12 isn't built this way, so the above doesn't apply.

If you go under the car and remove both vent panels, you can get enough access to the tunnel to run hoses, wiring, etc. I usually use a long piece of small diameter aluminum tubing to fish stuff through the tunnel - just carefully push it from one vent opening to the next, tape the hose or wires to the piece of tubing, and pull it through...
