Aircon leak

Hi guys. A problem I discovered not long after I bought the car is that the aircon leaks into the passenger footwell. I first noticed hoovering the car last year that the carpet was soaking. On inspection the drain hose appears to be in place ok below the car, although should this just drain on to the vent below the car running through it? The other thing I noticed is that the black box? Itself is leaking, I dried it off And the water seems to seep through it slowly, although there are no visible cracks in the box. My understanding is that it is a dash out windscreen job out to replace this which I would like to avoid. Can you get access from the front by drilling out the rivets on the top face or by cutting an access hole in it? Anyone else experienced this? Thanks guys

Slightly off topic but can anyone remember why the drivers side leaks. Floor is sealed and it doesn't look like its coming from door.

The side of the pedal box leaks so i am told.. Had the car to Jetstream and it was leaking from here and fixed. However it appears to be getting in from somewhere else as well!

Just want to make the bloody thing water tight!
