As the tittle says i'm going back to Afghanistan for another 6 month tour. So was after some advice on what to do with my noble for the 6 month. It will be locked away in my garage as normal but was wondering what would be best for if?
Was thinking :

A. Just disconnect the battery and leave the car alone.
B. Leave the car as it is now and get my wife to start it up once a month and let it run for 10mins.
C. Any other suggestions welcome.

Thanks Jay

I would go with plan B. So long as the weather is such that freezing isn't an issue, then I see that as a good option. Plan D would be to get your arse back in one piece after 6 months, stick the jump leads on it and don't worry yourself about it. Joking apart, stay safe and I hope you have a good tour.

Cheers Paul.
Yeah thats what i was thinking. Freezing weather wont be an issue as my garage is built onto the house and stays reasonably warm.

I'd go with plan B too, although I'd give it more than 10 min's, maybe 30 min's to make sure everything's got up to temperature. If the Mrs can drive it OK, I'd suggest at the very least take the handbrake off, drive it even a short distance and park it up again?

Option D. Lend it to me.

I am fully aware you don't know me from Adam, but I too live in the South, so we have something in common.

In all seriousness, take care of yourself out there. I have nothing but respect for you guys.

If your garage is built onto your house why don't you use a battery conditioner to keep the battery topped up when it needs it.
Also, as has been mentioned, don't just have the car started for 10 minutes, you really need to move all the parts and oil around, or, just leave everything alone, don't start the car, maybe just take the weight of the tyres a little. If the garage is warm enough then it will be fine.
Stay safe out there.

If winter I'd say B but as you'll be gone during what is supposed to be spring/summer A should work fine too.

This post brings up a question I have.
How well do Noble's store?

I'm working oversea's at the moment and when the right car come up I was thinking of going for it and then storing in a garage until I'm back, but I don't have the benefit of having a lovely wife in the UK to start it each month and the garage is not that air/water tight.

Thoughts?

Mine has been fine before when i've been away for a couple months, wife hasn't started it up, just left it in the garage with the hand brake off. It's started up 1st time every time when i'm back.
Just after some advice this time as i'm away for a bit longer.
