I think they were around £60 or so. This was a few years ago though when you could still buy parts direct.

I thought handbrake shoes were around £300 a pair or am I wrong? I've just had my handbrake shoes relined and at last they work really well. It cost me £120 as i asked for something soft and grippy. If you do go down the relining route be careful on thickness of shoe I used 3mm and the fit was perfect. Any thicker and the disc won't go on.

3mm lining at a cost of £120 in total and they do a 24hr turnaround. Measure the internal diameter of your rear disk to make sure, mine was 190mm.

Had a little problem yesterday worth sharing.

Parked up miles from home after a spirited drive and (unusually) put handbrake on. Came back 10 minutes later and car would only roll backward not forward.

Brilliant RAC man fixed problem quickly. Combination of light rust on inside of disc and brake dust build up had caused a jam. A little work with emery paper sorted it.

Probably worth removing and cleaning out every so often.
