Finally managed to get my new carbon intercooler box fitted after what seems like months of tweaking the mould to get it right !!!! Std one weights 1.8 kg and was in a state , new one weights in at 1.1kg so a massive 0.7 kg saving biggrinbiggrin

Running out of things to make now biggrinbiggrin

Very nice indeed, think you've stuck the gold on the wrong side though :-)

Now I've seen yours I'm definatelly going to do something similar to mine as it looks very cool indeed

Just what I was thinking, nice work though, it's seeing finished items like this that gives us mere mortals hope with our part finished projects!

one of the wonderful things of carbon is that it doesnt retain heat so unlike alloy you only have to protect it from damage... Im suspecting you only need gold on the underside.

I must say, it looks bloody fantastic

Thanks Andy , I've raised the bump in the bottom plate over the turbo so there is a bit more room and fitted a turbo blanket

Then I've fitted a heatproof pad on top of a heat wrapped alloy bottom plate , then the bottom of the intercooler box has a foil back !!!! Hopefully that will sort it biggrinbiggrin
