Had a problem a few months ago of a corroded fuel relay which drained the battery. Got it going again which took a bit to get some power in the battery.
Parked it back at home and didn't bother locking/setting the alarm. 3 weeks later it started first time, took it out for a spin then parked it up and locked it/set alarm. 4 days later it was completely flat.
Jumped it again and it was fine as I didn't lock it.
So, either a duff battery or the alarms drawing more than it should.
Gave it a full service yesterday and also changed the battery to a shine Bosch silver one £75 from Halfords. What an awesome job that was.

Using an ammeter the car is drawing 0.02a just sat there and 0.04-0.05a with the alarm set. Are these acceptable levels pointing at the fact it was the battery at fault?

Cheers, Mark

my experience is once the battery has been flattened it wont hold a charge over a period of time and will steadily get worse.

replace the battery is what i recomend.

Well 3 weeks standing on the new battery and its completely flat.
The alarm must be draining the power somewhere.

And have now developed a new problem. Massive hesitation while accelerating, it works ok at different throttle positions but as you go through bad spots it backs off the power then comes back again

Hi I reckon that my battery suffers in the same way so it was recommended unless using it regularly it was worth sticking it on trickle charge. As the cigarette lighter is always live on the noble I plug it in lock up and forget it. Well worth a tenner

3 weeks to flat is pretty normal , get a trickle charger for when not using .
Re set adaptive maps and then go for a run , hopefully sort hesitation .

Its just that it used to be fine for longer. Really do need to get a trickle charger though.
How do you reset the maps? Also I have the noble laptop program but what cable do I need?

Resetting the adaptive maps with the computer did the job. I didn't bother disconnecting the battery to try that as it had been flat so thought that wasn't it. Should of tried it, doh!

Its with jetstream for an engine health check and a remap, hopefully before Trevor goes away. If not then in 4 weeks time frown
