Donington Park this Saturday

A bit late, but I thought I'd let you all know how we did. Saturday morning was qualifying, we all went out to get used to the car and track again. I was able to post a time that had us in second place, 20 mins before the end of qualifying we were still 3rd with our time, do we took an early lunch. The top runners must have kicked themselves as their times improved. We ended in 7th. The race was a rolling start and you were supposed to hold position until you cross the line. Into red gate and I was down to 9th and getting pushed off the tack. By the end of the lap I was back to 7th and holding. Three laps in pushing too hard for 6th place I got out braked at the Old Hairpin and spun off, putting us to the back of the grid. Bit between my teeth and mad with my self I set about getting back up the grid. Climbed back to 17th and again my inexperience showed when I got out braked again, this time straight through the gravel trap at McLeans, kept it going but cost me two places. We finished the 1hr sprint race about 20th out of 30.
The main 4hr race we got pulled out the bag in 4th. Fantastic, my team mate held that for four laps doing really well before planting the car into the kitty litter backwards and unable to get out. Safety car was called and our hopes of any kind of challenge dashed. Once we got going again we pushed hard and slowly started to catch the back markers. My first stint I had a great three car battle, but something wasn't right, car was fine on right handers but moving on left handers, kept going for two laps fighting to hold my place and fearing that I had a puncture. Through Esses and no doubt I had a problem so pitted. Sure enough, rear right had a puncture, again this lost us places.
My last stint out saw the safety car and I found myself with the top runners and in 6th albeit and lap or two down. I had a great time and got my self into 4th and held it to the end of the race. It was nice to see we can compete if we could only keep it on the black stuff!!!
Not sure how many friends I made in the top five with my novice badge pushing passed them, but I enjoyed it
Best bit was we got team of the morning for the sprint so found ourselves on the podium and our first trophy!!!
Hope to be able to post some of the footage when I figure out our VBox. If there is any footage from Sky Sports, I'll get that up as well.
