Just wondering how many miles you get from a tank, well three quarters, I fill up then run it down to quarter full then fill up again, I am getting around 130/140 miles, car is running 415 bhp and my driving could be classed as spirited biggrin.

Is this the norm.

I get around 140miles from 3/4 a tank usually takes around 32-35L so seems like there is a lot more than 1/4 left if its a 60L tank!

you wont be able to use 60L of a standard tank before running out of fuel... 50L is close to its max...

The tank DOES however hold over 60L of fuel... I changed my tank design so I can use safely every bit of the fuel in my tank extending its range by 15L... in fact my last fill up took 61L of fuel smile

Saying that I 'only' get 250-300miles from a tank on long runs... much less if i'm silly with the right foot!

when my car was standard I often got 300miles from a tank on log runs (250miles was a norm)... but it only took around 50L max of fuel on a fill up... I did run out once so I know how low it could go lol

Fuel range is something I've been wondering about, pending my future ownership.
I've seem 28 mpg quoted, and would hope to easily score over 200 miles from a standard car on a run. Much less than that proves impractical for touring IMHO.
How much does the mpg drop for those running say 400hp, percentage wise?

Remembering back to my TVR (5ltr Rover V8), I'd get 280 miles easily out of a tank on a run. But once I changed the cam and re-chipped, I was lucky to get 200 miles. This proved a right pain having to fill up all the time. I'd always carry 5ltrs in a can too, as the fuel gauge was for guidance only. Not possible in an M12.

The tank mod seems like a great plan. Easy to do, or a redesigned tank?

The day I picked my GTO3 up I drove from Mansfield to Glasgow filling up at Doncaster then got all the way home (225 miles) on a tankfull, 36L filled it up and works out 29 MPG! Happy with that! Car is lightly tuned and mapped to 375BHP. Think I have been getting sub 20mpg since then though but that's down to my driving lol! smile

With my 3R standard I could get about 200 miles out of it saying under 80. After all the work I get slightly more.

Any well done engine work (including mapping, exhausts etc) should increase efficiency if anything. Only downside is you tend to put your foot down more!

My standard 3R covers around 250 miles. I usually squeeze in about 55-56 litres at the pumps. I do run It lower than I should as it's such a PITA filling up.

510 bhp and got 240 miles to a tank full last Saturday morning on a distance run between 70 and a oner all the way !

Pretty chuffed with that !

Luggage for two and 1.5 people in the car, I have been told I now weigh as much as a jeycloth though.

I used to get 190 every tank, now it seems more like 140, I might get Jetstream to look into it, although its probably just my "enthusiastic driving style"

I used to get 200 miles per tank when standard. At just over 400bhp it was more like 150
