To me saying goodbye to my wonderful M400. I've got a chance of buying a GranturismoS MC-Shift at bang on trade money( but private sale) through a chance conversation at a Netball match ( don't ask!).
So far, it all checks out, nigh on perfect spec for me,MD-FSH,3 months Trident warranty left,and just had a 2 grand service.
It's the ONLY Coupe I've ever been properly interested in, having chucked back a deposit on a the GTR years ago,and shaken my head at DB9's,RS5's,XKR's,Conti GT's and God knows what else.
Sounds utterly pant wettingly fantastic, can fit the four of us in it easy,looks wonderful to my eyes ( other than the rear arch gap that can be addressed apparently)and with servicing every 2 years /12.5K miles might not break the bank either.At the price I could get it for, it might be nigh on depreciation proof for a couple of years as well.
So the dilemma is..., the M400 is doing very few miles now, as I won't take it if I'm unaware of the parking surroundings, or if the roads are known to be rough,or if it's raining,or moreover recently with if there's not enough space for the kids sports bags etc. I'm doing 2k a year now in it.
Do I buy it and sell the M400 after 6 fantastic years ( with a first refusal for a buy-back)?
Borrow some money,keep both until the end of the summer and sell one when I know what one is my preference.
Not buy the GTS,and miss out on a great opportunity.

I just test drove an MC Shift as well - though obviously I am not getting it at cost trade price!
I was going to buy the Masser and keep the Noble. Then at the end sell whatever I don't want (probably the Masser). If I sold the Noble I would be afraid I would not get the one that is as well looked after as mine with all the improvements I have made and I would have to start all over again.
If you don't buy the MC Shift could you give me a chance to buy it? Hee hee ..

Similar dilemma myself about my 355! Must be one of the most beautiful cars in the world IMO and the sound! but after 3 years I want to move on and try Noble ownership, I'd rather own a selection of say 4 cars over 10 years than just keeping the same one. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to own more than one special car at a time so it's now crunch time and she's going up for sale in a couple of weeks. By all means if any you guys got a nice sorted 3R pls pm me. As regards to your situation I think you've already made your mind up! Obviously it's a completely different experience owning a Masser, it seems more practical for your usage requirements and yes the sound is amazing. By pure chance I was on the M6 in my 355 and a Masser joined just in front of me, we rode slingshot for a few miles until I had to turn off, the tones we were making between us were epic, go with your heart and don't say next year "should have gone for that" John.
MC-S GTS is one of the finest cars I've had out of the car club, but beware that they are all made by Lugi on a Friday so don't expect them to stay stuck together for any length of time, especially the interior.

I've never wanted to sell it, that's why I've still got it! My only thoughts (then and now)were that there's a lot of cars and too little time. The only M400 I'd buy is my own one back. The GTS MC is the first car that I've driven where I can see me sacrificing a bit in performance, fun and rarity, but get a little back in other areas of noise, practicality and specialness, without paying double what the M400 is worth. The bit pushing me is the trade-in price I can get it for.There's an eye-watering spread between trade/dealer on these things ( and no doubt many of it's ilk)

That is pretty much my thinking, have both for a while, see what one tugs my heart strings more when I open the garage door. In the meanwhile, neither should depreciate astronomically and it'll be a nice feeling to have for a while. If it's the Maserati, then the Noble will go in exchange for a cheaper toy, maybe a 25K Caterham, Atom or the like, bringing a few grand back into the kitty at the same time.hoyin said:
