Having no proper search on the forum is a real ball ache!

Anyway - car is being serviced at the moment and they have noticed I am burning a bit of oil at the exhaust on start up.

Maybe my turbos are on the way out?

What have people done? Have you refurbished? Bought new or upgraded?

Is it worth trying to sort out now or just monitor it and do it next time?

Thanks

Hi Hoyin , don't bother with updating the T25 go the GT 25 RS route , massive step forward in both performance and drivability !!!!

Thanks Tux!

What sort of improvement am I looking at?

Where did you get them from? and how much were they?

Whilst this is being done anything related that I should sort out as well?

Thanks

Universal turbos should be able to supply them , pretty much a straight swap I think , remapp will be needed but better spool up and more peak power no problem , the GT 28RS are brilliant , 25 are smaller so faster spin up .

Ball raced turbo so more reliable in the long run too .

Thanks - I just spoke to Univeral Turbo.

They are £825 + vat each!

Ouch! Not cheap.

However we did speak about a group buy! and we could save some money. It depends on how many people we can get and what they can negotiate with Garrett. But possibly could be £750 each? But do not hold him to that they need to check first and it depends on the quantity.

So anyone interested in saving a few pounds? If I can get a rough idea of numbers I can go back and firm up the price.

Ahhhh mannnn, can't you wait until next year. Got to much to do this year already. Interior gets done soon and on top of the other things I've done this year, that's it.

Next year, will be discs, shocks and maybe GT25s and I'm done. Lol

Did you ask if they do an exchange on top of the group discount?

Chaps

Contact Tom Russell (tom@turbodynamics.co.uk) at Turbo Dynamics (I am not in any way related to him / them).

In mid January 2013 he quoted me £673.59 + vat per unit for GT2860RS (with 0.64 A/R turbine housings) for my 3R.

I have used their turbos on numerous cars over the years with excellent results.

No gain for me but always happy to help.

I'm just having GT25rs's fitted by Jetstream. I'd imagine they'd possibly be buying from universal so maybe try using my name as part of the group buy?

go for the GT25's... yes they are expensive, no they wont be a direct fit as you will need new oil and water lines to it.... but the spool up will be way better than what you have and can give over 550bhp if you plan for more.... other than cost they are a win win over the old style turbos you have fitted now.

The GT28's still spool better than the ones you have now and yet go to 650+bhp so you can only imagine how quick the GT28's will be.... AdrianW has these GT25 turbos fitted to his beast smile

thats a very good price

there is now a GTX2860 - exactly the same spool up but they will do 400 hp each !

Next time you floor it just look at the dial (or get someone else to)

A question for others, are these GT25s std I.e. just buy GT25's off the shelf. My mapper is suggesting they can get them at a better price than £800ea plus Vat?

It makes my eyes water when I see the prices that are charged compared what we pay for a wastegated turbo Honeywell GT25, albeit at a volume IRO 10,000 PA !

I really should do a detailed specification comparison !
