Hi all, i have fabricated some "blades" for my rear diffuser which look pretty good on the diffuser once fixed.

They are galvanised steel sheet plasma cut, doubled up and spotted together with a turned out fixing strip.

Wondered if anyone was interested in these as an alternative to some of the ££££ options.

PM for details if interested.

(The pictures keep uploading upside down, sorry...)

Good effort - a much faster alternative to the full panel replacement.

I may be inclined to fit two less less fins myself. scratchchin

Hi

Have had a lot of interest and PM's regarding these already.

They are £120.00 for the set of 5 with self tappers.

If you want less this can be pro-rated down.

They come in galvanised black primer which mine is in.

You could get these powder coated?

Maybe set up a group buy as they could be cheaper.

Postage is on top of this but you can collect if you are in Buckinghamshire.

Regards

Looks great! A much cheaper solution than changing the whole unit

The reason most change for an Ally item is for heat management. The fibreglass has a large reflective mat that reflects all the heat back into the engine bay. The only reason this is there is to stop the fibreglass from burning!

I really liked Juno's attempt on my friend's old car. Hopefully he'll see this and put a picture up again, the theory he offered sounded very tangible too.

Chappers - that's quite amusing!

I like this as a solution. My concern over the more expensive upgrades is they all stick out a bit more and I have to reverse down the ramps where my car lives as the front splitter can't take it forwards and worry that a new diffuser would cause issues going down backwards.

These vanes fit within the current design and look cool even if they do nothing.

Might paint the self tappers black though, but would be keen for a set if there's a group buy going to happen?

Can you post a close-up photo of both sides please? I can't see whether the open side goes down or up, and hence where the fasterings attach. I presume these are fitted without flow panel removal (ie: to the outside of the floor panel)correct?

Don't need to remove existing rear diffuser.

I needed to remove one screw which was the one centre to the tow hook so I could get it to sit flush and centre.

Fixed both sides.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Ollie, good man smile I see now - they are a C-shaped, I was hoping for a long U-shape, if you see what I mean, for a more enclosed look. Nice work though.
