A Noble Success!

Wow, what a weekend!
Practice on Saturday was a bit sketchy with heavy rain and over boosting problem meaning I didn't really get any good practice or laps in.
Qualifying on Sunday it was quite damp and really greasy on circuit but I pulled together an ok lap to bag 7th spot on the grid of 20 cars.
Race 1 - 12 of the longest and hardest laps I've ever done, the rain came on, I'm on pilot sport cups and the red lights went, a slow but steady start saw me end lap 1 passing the Bruce taxis Evo X for 6th, the following few laps saw the track suddenly drying out and I chased down the Westfield on wets and Subaru whos gearbox unfortunatly went as i passed him and into 4th but I then developed an overboosting issue and had to drive on 3/4 throttle, lots of odd pops and flames from the right exhaust pipe. However too competitive to give a monkeys I ploughed on and hunted down the escort cosworth and following a brave overtaking attempt at clarks gone wrong I eventually got him and 3rd place at the hairpin, the last couple of laps I managed to make up huge time and nearly caught the supercharged and sequential geared M3 but sadly had to settle for 3rd and fastest lap by a second. It wasn't clean laps I admit but when those lights go out you don't care about anything other than the top spot! Red mist indeed!

Race 2 - 10 laps, track was dry and I was on full slicks, started 3rd great off the line and might have passed the two in front if I didn't miss 2nd gear! Held 3rd into the first corner then drove some very clean solid laps to reel in the M3 including a personal best of 54.8 and then put a few more clean laps in to put some distance between me and him, sadly the Westfield had built a bit of a lead up and with my boost problem I didn't want to fry the engine so drove a sensible second half of the race and literally just cruised the car home on the last lap to take 2nd place and second piece of silver wear. Can't believe I managed to hold myself together and not put it in the gravel but I did and I've got a taste for it now!
The Scottish saloons and sports cars and classics races will be aired on motors TV on July 10th at 18:54 for an hour.
Motors TV put a go-pro on my roof for the second race so hope to have some of that featured, please turn off if they air my interview! Haha
I have go-pro footage of the messy first race so will post that for your enjoyment tonight! ...
