Hi All,

I picked up my Noble at the weekend, Metallic Black 3R from near Peterborough.

Very pleased with it, well apart from the squealing RS29 brakes, which are doing my head in, they may be replaced with softer ones sooner rather than later.

Haven't been able to get access to Nobleparts yet though.

Welcome to the Nobility!

RS29 shouldn't squeal too much, depends how well they have been installed I would think.

Mine are silent - maybe time for a visit to Jetstream? smile

Has the car been laid up for a while? - this may not be brakes but mice laugh

Do you think a removal, and application of copper slip or similar with help with the noise? (On the back of the pads obviously)

Don't think it's been laid up as such, but defintely low use, probably enough to shift any nesting rodents though

Thanks

Matt

Hi Matt , well done on your new purchase , very nice car and well looked after !! pads just need the sharpe edge taking off or some heavy use , i doubt they are properly bedded in yet and its former owner did not do much work in it . fancy a track day on the 7th .

Hi Simon,

Don't think i'll be attending the trackday just yet, but maybe the next one. I need some financial recovery!

Thanks

If your selling the RS29's drop me a message as I've burned through a set since April!

Enjoy the car!

Welcome! And yes application of copperslip to (rear!) of pads and to leading edges will silence the RS29s completely. Make sure you clean any dust and crud from the calipers before reinserting (air hose if you have access to one). If they still squeal after that , sell them to Hollowpocketssmile

Just been reprimanded by AdrianW for suggesting air-lines to clean off brake dust! Use brake cleaner instead, as the carcinogenic compounds used in the brake linings just drips harmlessly onto the floor. Oh and don't drink the brake cleaner, that won't be good for you either hehe
