Looking at my first trackday in the Nob in a few weeks (if i pass the noise test!) and just wondered if anyone had any Noble specific advice? Have done trackdays in previous cars so know the general procedure but just wondering if there was anything specific to the Noble I should know?

Heh Ross , temperature,s will be your biggest issue so 1 warm up 3 flying , 1 cool down ,.
Tyre pressure will get pretty high so make sure you check regularly .
What circuit are you at ?

keep the oil topped up !

does it have a track day sump ?

i suggest you add slick50 to the oil in case of a loss of pressure

Cheers guys, it's the Indy circuit at Brands Hatch! What tyre pressures are recommended? Yes it has a track day sump, is it likely to use oil or just keep an eye on it?

My one uses some oil, best to carry some, shell helix ultra for me, the 10w-60 racing stuff but 10w-40 will be fine for you.

Tyre pressures at 18fr 26rr as you'll get more heat into them on track and just wear the middle if you don't lower them.

As said above warm up and cool down

I can't wait until my first trackday - I've got Castle Combe booked for the 19th.
Was going to ask about tyre pressures too, so glad that's been answered thanks.

Can I use up my Mobile 1 fully synthetic for topping up? I can't seem to get hold of Shell Helix.
I've got an old pot of Slick 50 too, so will prob take that advice too.

I'm most worried about brakes. Jetstream bled them for me, but although the pad wear is fine, they do seem to moan a bit after heavy use. Unfortunately I've no idea what pads are in the callipers.

If you have front and rear plates its best to remove them so air flow is not restricted over the Rad and intecooler.

Not sure I would mix mobile 1 with shell helix . You can get she'll oil from shell filling stations , 10w x 40 should be fine .
Brakes are not normally a big issue , again buildbspeedbandmdo not do,too many laps .

Gauges seem to differ but I generally come in if the temperature reading gets over 100. This can be as little as three flying laps in hot weather and working hard, on the other hand on one session I did 16 laps at Anglesey a few weeks ago and the temperature stayed below 90, but it was in the pouring rain....

Keep an eye on the gauge and get a feel for how your car behaves under track conditions and try to keep to Tux's advice until you get more experience.

Also, and most important, when you come in, DO leave the engine running for a good few minutes and DON'T put the handbrake on. Forgetting the first will damage the turbos and forgetting the second will cook the rear brakes and probably weld the pads to the discs. This means you need to base yourself where it is flat. When you do finally switch the engine off, leave the car in gear to stop it rolling away. Try to remember you have done this when it comes to restarting!

Re the Shell Helix I bought recently on eBay - 6 litres (5+1) for about £36 (it's about £20+ for 1 litre at a Shell station!).

2 days delivery.

Castle coombe is awesome. I am at Bedford the next day as my car seems to be behaving itself of late.

Brakes do groan after track use but never fade, my front pads are Carbotech and they take some serious abuse!

Tyres I have at 18 and 22 with nitrogen filled recently and i dont touch them. P Zero rossos and at Goodwood the other week they were staggeringly good.

When are you going to Brands?

also worth doing is getting the rear clam up as soon as you stop in the garage . helps massively get rid of heat .
