Went to Dubai Autodrome and guess who I met?

... no it was not Lee! but everyone says it's nice to be able to chat to the owner/designer of our cars - well I got to speak to Christian von Koenigsegg and yes he is a really nice bloke - I said I admitted that I could not afford one at the moment, but he did not then ignore me and turn to the nearst oil baron etc. he carried on talking to me! When I mentioned I had a noble he said he liked them and that they were great cars.....

Does he really look like a Bond villan?
You might think so, needs a dodgy scar or something down the side of his face really!!! - but he certainly doesn't sound like one - very polite and well spoken! - And yes if I could afford one I would have one of his cars over a Carrera GT or Enzo (similar price)... although he did say - 'This is not a Ferrari or a Porsche' I assume what he meant by that is that he is not after the same client base, but in the that price bracket your price range is a bit limited....

If you're buying a £250k car new i doubt depreciation is going to put you off buying a dream car. The CCR is absolutely stunning, as is the Zonda. When i buy one, it'll be a keeper for life
I completely disagree. Depreciation is always an issue. Met a chap with an F40 at lemans. Depreciation was the biggest issue for him full stop. Its why most of these cars barely ever get driven.
Youve only got to watch last years Gumball 3000 to see how fragile the car seems. It spent more time in a garage or on the back of a truck than on the road.
I think I would take the Pagani for its build quality and the bullet proof Merc AMG engine rather than the Koennigsegg even though I think it looks better than the Zonda

The one Konigsegg that entered the Supercarrun failed to finish. And the speed of cars was not under consideration.
Some of the problems this car had were appalling. Bad enough for a car of £10k let alone £300k plus.
Why a manufacturer lets such a car on the road is amazing to me.
Not unlike the Farboud then?!
If koenigseg on the gumball was apparently their demonstrator, and not a full production car.
With a car produced in these kinds of volumes, their are bound to be problems. Its just normally you don't hear about them.
Chap appeared on the Elise forums with a GT2 tuned by 9ff, a company which Evo was dribbling over in last months mag. He didn't have such a great experience!
