As well as a couple more races at Knockhill this year I will be doing some down south so I can stretch the legs on the car a bit. The most I'm hitting at Knockhill is 133mph on the main straight.
Registered with the BRSCC and euro saloons so I'll also be racing at:
Anglesey on the 3/4th August
Donington on the 19/20 October
If your nearby pop it in your diary as I'll need some support from the Nobility on unfamiliar tracks! Hope to provide some entertaining racing for you though!

....and I can genuinely recommend going along to either of these meets, or Knockhill next time around, to watch Graham push his M400 to the limits (or is it that you hit your limits first Graham?!).
I was at Knockhill last Sunday and picked up my preferred vantage point at the hairpin and the duel that Graham had with in the main the Caterhams (whilst dodging backmarkers or all shapes and sizes as they hit the apex just before him and were too late to shift!) was quite awesome in it's ferocity. Nothing was given up, every scrap of tarmac was fought over, the effort expended by man and machinery was a true delight to watch and I have to say, at times put the fear of God into me and I was just standing there nonchanantly taking the sun, with a 99 flake in my hand and my shades donned. If I was that nervous I did kind of wonder how he must have felt just before the red lights went out.
Seeing the M400 negotiate the hairpin and Graham stick what was probably 500 horses firmly into the black stuff, bloody great flames shooting out of his o/s exhaust as he changed up through the gears was worth every penny of the 12 quid admission cost, in fact it would have been worth five times as much.

Graham, you'll love both circuiits. Coastal config at Anglesey and National at Donny are best. Unfortunately it takes longer to get to Anglesey from the S. East than it does to get to Spa!! Might be able to make Donny though.
Prepare to have your car stripped down if you park it too close to Grahams!! He's not good with organising his spares you know........

Haha I never touched your car Shaun! Was good to see you, your car looking immaculate as always!
Regarding limits, it's prob a bit of both, I'm close to what the can can do at knockhill with the current standard geo set up, some more camber will help things in the corners, also I'm just learning what I can do, it will be a learning curve and hopefully I improve with time and with each track and race.
Thanks for the support though, it all helps spur me on in the final laps, can't let down the half a dozen fan club! (Including the foreign guy who wanted my signature)! Haha
I've since stocked up on a few £££'s worth of spare bits but have to hope the major bits like drive shafts and clutches etc last the rest of the year!

Indeed!

how did you find going from standard camber to the set up you have now? Does it take long to adjust driving style?

Do I take it that you do not have machined uprights to allow some camber change? Edited by Hollowpockets on Thursday 18th July 17:23
With the standard wishbones and machined uprights you can put in 2.5 degrees negative camber at the rear, which will be more than enough for all but the twistiest circuits (Knockhill?)Any more than this and you will find you start to grind the drive shafts. Originally mine was set at 3 degs, but had to back it off half a degree to stop the grinding when leaning hard into corners. The alternative suspension with longer wishbones will obviate this issue, but how much additional real life benefit you'll get from > 2.5degrees is debatable. At Spa on Mon/Tues I was getting about a 10 degree difference in tyre temp from inside to out with the higher temps on the inside. Now Spa has long straights which will contribute to the higher temps on the inside, but I also get pretty even tyre wear with -2.5 deg at the rear. I guess you just have to experiment and see what works best with your style of driving!
Yeah Rob just standard M400 set up, no machining of uprights. I just want a little more than I'm running at the moment so will just ask Dave for instructions on a set up for what I'm doing, don't want to put too much camber on it or it'll start to affect braking and putting down the power.
The races are using Anglesey coastal and donington national so that's good.
