Garage doing my Geo setup managed to crack the upright where the track rod end connects!!! frown
They are going to cover the cost of fixing it but need to try to get another part arranged ASAP!
Anyone know where I can get another upright?
There is a M400 one on ebay are they the same as on a GTO3?

Thanks,
David.

Yes would fit but if the garage broke yours why fit a used one, the factory should have stock but be prepared to be shocked yikes

If they won't stump up for a new one & your stuck l have a spare NSF that l would sell.

Yeah aren't they £5-800 from the factory? For the same quality part? If they've offered to fix it, why would you buy one second hand that you don't know anything about? I could be a garage queen or it could have been a track car taking every bit of curb he could.

I feel when they find out the cost you might have a battle on your hands though.

It's a good friends garage so although I want it fixed right I also don't want him to be out of pocket too much!
He pointed out a split boot on the track end when doing the geo and advised to change it.
As he couldn't get the QH part the factor provided an equivalent Delphi part, both looked to be identical but I'm thinking there may be some difference on the taper on the Delphi part as the upright cracked when tightening up the top nut and torque was only set at 60nm which is correct from the Wiki and faq?
On the upside he has given me his 4.2 V8 S4 to use till the Noble is fixed! smile

Just got the noble back! smile
Grage stumped up for a brand new upright, hub and bearing!
Big thanks to Jetstream for sorting out the parts and providing good advice!
The new billet upright looks much better quality than the original cast item, only problem is I now want to upgrade the other side to match!! Lol! smile
Investigation into the cause of the crack continues but initial findings point to a different taper on the non QH equivilient track rod end! So beware when changing!
Just need some dry weather so I can test it out now, it's been a long week!!
