Got a stuck tyre valve on my Noble (it's stuck open and leaking out, so may need a steel replacement) and was planning to attend tomorrow's Surrey run - anyone know of a tyre repairers in SW London/Surrey open late tonight or early Sunday am?!

Cheers.

Would the AA be able to do anything? Might be worth a call. I'm sure they would have a contact at least.

Thnks Laurence, I hadn't thought of that (in my case the RAC) but have now decided to give up on trying to get it sorted before 7am tomorrow when I'd have to had left home for the run!

Needless to say, je suis tres gutted as it will be a great run through the glorious Sussex countryside on a Sunday morning! ;-(

Thanks again.

I presume you have tried deflating it completly and then pumping it back up again?

The AA/RAC will be able to fix this if it really is a sticky valve. I used to have one of these as a teenager

You can take the valve core out with it, grind and reseat it, and then put it back.

I'd imagine every RAC bod will have one, as well as a few spare valve cores!

Thanks Justin. No, didn't try that as was concerned that if it doesn't close I'm then stuck with a completely flat tyre and can't limp round to the tyre shop in the am! Having said that it's probably flat by now anyway so may try some midnight tinkering later !

Enjoy the run - I've always got Dunsfold!

That's a shame you can't make it. Can you not tag along with someone else? I know it's not quite the same, but it's better than nothing.

Kwik fit should be open by 8 on a sunday, might be worth a punt, then catch up later?

AA do mibile tyre fitting, so should come out to you.

Thanks all, got the RAC out for 6am this morning - valve core fitted in 15 seconds (the mechanic was well chuffed at such a simple callout!) so made it to the Surrey run! Had an early morning workout as had to pump up the tyre from flat - took over 500 pumps!!!

For future reference, should anyone need tyre assistance on a Sunday it appears that any tyre shops that were open on a Sunday opened at 10.00am.

Funny thing, the lady on the phone didn't have Noble listed and asked whether it was a car or a bike, hmmm!!! ;-)
