Hi folks,

Been having a look at this maybe for next year if they run it, www.race-at-spa.com , Looks like it could be quite fun, half hour qualifying session, one hour race with two drivers allowed, pit stop for cars that need it, any tyre allowed. Full fireproof racing safety gear required, a car that meets UK scrutineering standards and drivers must have a National A licence.

I think it would be a good fun event that I'd learn a lot from, would probably be good to share the experience/stress/fun with someone else though so if you think this might be for you, drop me an email and we can discuss. (If you crash my car at eau rouge you pay for the repairs! lol)

My car is good for it (I think) and reasonably competitive, got a few spares stocked up, I have the minimum required refuelling pump, I should have my National A licence by the end of this year too, just need fireproof underwear!

Racing at Spa would be just about the most fun thing I can think of doing with my car!

Graham

To race a Noble for an hour is a very brave thing to do, especially if it is a hot day.

Is she any good with RWD Adam?

Yeah Adrian, its pushing the limits with the car as it is but the race is normally October which should be cooler, I would be making extra provisions for that situation though, already got the lower temp thermostat, would do extra cooling ducts for engine bay and brakes, I'll probably be fitting a larger oil cooler anyway and open up the rear clam vents on the top deck area, the boost would need kept to 1 bar so heat soak doesn't creep in and the water injection would need set up for low boost running and refilled during pit stop. Its do-able.

Through all the stuff I've done so far heat hasn't been a problem (other than for tyres) so I think the car is in a good place and will only get better as I make improvements. If it does fk up half way through the race, at least the race is in October so ill have pretty much had a full season out of it anyway.

Sounds like fun! But look what I spied a couple of weeks ago....

Now those little 'land-mines' will buckle your wheels and rip your suspension off if you try to cut corners. This was taken at Rivage2 (left hander taking you down to Pouhon). But there are more of them around the circuit.

Graham, Leon and I were talking about this last year that it was somthing we were very interested in.....

I signed up for more info as it became available but it seemed to peter out......Has it or will it take part this year ?

Could be a great laugh dragging 3 race cars across europe together for a blast round spa in 2014 !!!

Somthing I'd be up for !! Especially tied in with a ring trip.

Here's some footage from V box taken the same day - gives you a better idea where the land mines are located.
I think you should be OK though as judging from the Knockhill pics you will be on the outside of the new humps laugh
