Just changing my trackrod ends and I've found a broken part and wondered if anyone has one? Maybe someone breaking a noble or someone who's bought new uprights? It's the little metal sleeve the trackrod end goes into, then fits into the alloy upright. Mine has obviously been broken a long time as the broken bits have gone very rusty. I'll try jetstream in the morning but if anyone else can help it would be much appreciated.

I'm also after the plastic cover that goes over the top ball joint to stop all the wet/grit/crap getting in there.

Thanks

Hi Metalman,
Just a word of warning when doing the trackrod ends be very carful when torqueing up the nits in the upright especially if you are not using QH parts!
I just had one of my uprights crack and its down to the Delphi part we used having a slightly different taper so it caused a stress fracture in the aluminium block! Fortunately the garage involved covered the cost of a brand new replacement! smile
Jetstream are aware of this issue and provided all the replacement parts including a trackrod that they machined to have the correct taper.
Cheers,
Davie.

Ah ok, that makes perfect sense then. I guess a previous owner has fitted aftermarket ends and cracked the insert. I've only found one QH part as they went bust a couple of years back but I'll call Jetstream and see what they have. Thanks for the tip, I re-read your thread last night and thought there may be a problem.

I've bought a new pair of the inserts from Jetstream (thanks again Dave) and fitted a new pair of trackrod ends. It's appears a previous owner/garage had over-tightened the trackrod nut and split the insert, if I hadn't of spotted it I'm sure I would've cracked the upright when tightening the nut.
So if anyone is replacing trackrod ends please check the small inserts they fit into, if they are cracked they need replacing and only cost about £20 each.
