Not 100 percent but think a company called SBD repair them msg GC1 I know he sent his there Iff your filling the inter cooler up with fuel prob no point sending it to them as this was what happened to Graham's sure he will keep you right
Thanks for that paul, not same prob but had it tested & no response, been told can have it opened up by mbe but cant guarantee can fix, at a cost of £200. So could be wasted money.Mt
Do you know what the fault / symptoms are? Unless it's really gone-for-a-burton, and fried the pcb (unlikely, but possible) then it's probably a relatively cheap fix in terms of components. (the problem is labour obviously!) but if you've run out of other options, whip the lid off for a look, take a pic etc, post back on here for advice etc!
Had a similar experience myself a couple of weeks ago, sent my MBE unit back to MBE they wanted £200-00 to strip, but ultimately couldn't guarantee it would be repairable.
So contacted Jetstream, who in conjunction with MBE were developing a new ECU which would replace the existing unit, Jetstream fitted and tested it car now runs fine.
My car is a GTO3,both MBE and particularly Jetstream very helpful, hope this helps.

Hmm, so companies developing a "new" unit, charge lots of money to "fix" older units....... Hastings my little grey cells are telling me something ;-)
Actually, for small companies, "fixing" old stuff is really time consuming and difficult, so tbh, charging money to do so isn't un-exceptional. I'd just be a bit miffed to shell out £200 to change a 75p transistor or whatever!

Hi all
the ecu is currently with Jetstream, they have tested it no signal.
My options are:
Pay the 200 for MBE just to open it up, then if its repairable who knows.
Look for a used one at a reasonable cost.
Pay 1200 incl vat for a new one,
Don't really want to go the new route because that 1200 could go to new manifolds i desperately need which has probably got something to do with the misfire.
The problem arose from replacing the inlet plenum after replacing the plugs because of a misfire at max boost.
I screwed one of the bolts through the fuel rail harness, cutting through one cable & nicking the sheath off another, the rest looked fine.
The fuel pump still wont prime after repairing the harness.
Checked the 4 fuses by the ecu & the 2nd one from the rear 15amp had blown. hoped this was it.
Replaced but fuel pump still wont prime.
I have been in touch with Jetstream who have been most helpful, but the ball is now in my court & i'm not sure what to do.

Take the lid off, and post up a picture of your ecu's "internals" on here, will advise from there!
(it's a pretty basic ecu, so fault analysis shouldn't be too bad tbh)
If something has been stressed to the point of blowing, it will probably not be visual. If it is visual then the actual PCB could be screwed. (it's a pretty basic ecu, so fault analysis shouldn't be too bad tbh)

The Ecu is with Jetstream, pondering what to do with it. (it's a pretty basic ecu, so fault analysis shouldn't be too bad tbh)
I'm not sure how easy it is to open up, had a look before sent off.
When & if i get it back to try & repair i will post some pics.

So you shorted an output, chances are its a transistor or protection diode, if it was designed properly maybe a transorb, all cost pence. 200 to fault find something they know inside out is properly taking the piss, they don't cost anywhere near that much to make in the first place.the ecu is currently with Jetstream, they have tested it no signal.

Hi Tux
I'm in no desparate hurry other than wanting to get to the bottom of it & wanting a drive.
Did you have a date roughly in mind ?

No mate , just a job to do over winter , I will have a chat with Jetstream tomorrow and see what availability is like for the new unit ect . I'm in no desparate hurry other than wanting to get to the bottom of it & wanting a drive.
