Has anyone done this? IT would be nice to stop smashing my hand into it everytime I change into 6th gear....unless I change with my hand coming from directly above ...but that option looks very limp wristed!

funny I thought the long thin sticky out thing between the seats was a gearchange hand rest - you say its a "handbrake"?

Oh - you mean the "oversteer inducing device" that isn't really required apart from very tight turns....!

Don't worry - after a few 100 or so miles of stop start yu'll find you stop noticing it and either use it as an arm rest as Paul said or as a "feature".
