I never thought the day would come but I think I'm going to have to part with my much loved 2.5. Two mortgages and now rent and utilities to pay for my daughter at uni is going to leave me overstretched.
A few bits and pieces to put right first, like new wipers and lights and solve the power steering leak.
The question is, how much do I sell it for? Around 65000 on the clock now with the usual upgrades: Quaife LSD, ECU, Trevor mapped last year, recon front shocks last year, 2 new turbos this year, stainless manifolds, new Eagle F1s, new floor last year.
Any suggestions on value?weeping

There's value and there's selling price...

I'd say you wouldn't buy any 2.5 for less than 18k, and 23 seems a little high.

So, it's had some stuff done but then the miles are high. I'd put it up for a come-buy-me of perhaps 20? With a view to taking an offer somewhere abve 19?

Again I stress, this might not be what it's worth, just my opinion of what it might sell for quickly.

if i were you, try to keep it - in a few years it will go up in value

You could always tune it some more if you are bored of the power

if you really have to sell, wait till the sunshine is out, you will fetch more

£18k??? For a Cat C, surely.

Is that mileage on the original engine? i think that would make a big difference to the price people want to pay.

Yes, that's the original engine. It has never skipped a beat, only the ancillaries have needed replacement. No smoke or oil leaks, never tracked, just local use.

I would agree! I have my CAT C one for sale at moment and I wouldn't be taking much less than 18k for it.

Is it totally out of the question to SORN and store it for a year or two? I think you'll regret it if you let it go. I was all set to sell mine but have bottled it!

I'd love to do that Rob but if I store it, I still need to insure it. I'd only really be saving on road tax. What I really hope to do is be back in the Noble fold a year or two down the line but with a 3/3R. I appreciate there may be some increase in values but I doubt the increase would cover the cost of keeping it. Then of course the increase is of no use unless it's sold!

Have a word with Bespoke. Don't quote me but I think they have a customer's car stored for him, they may have an option that would work for you?

I'm just spitballing but would it be a better option to get rid of the daughter??

There is a dealer 2.5, blue with mid 40ks on the clock in the classifieds for 21k.

Nice thought about the daughter but unfortunately I'm stuck with a 'for life' contract...

You could frame her for something and let the prison system deal with her, keep the Noble and then rent out the room to pay for fuel.

This is good and could possibly work. I wondered if she 'went on the game' she could pay her own rent? I know she's my daughter and everything, but she does have quite a rack on her and I'm sure that could attract a reasonable amount of clients. What do you think?

Don't be put off by the tiny bikini and raised veins Mike, it was competition day so she was a little more 'pumped up' than normal.

as I said, theres a difference between value and selling price....

So, if something hasn't sold yet, then either the right buyer hasn't seen it or the buyers out there want to pay less.

By all means put it up for 25- there have been a few around at that price. I guess a good way to drive up the prices would be a cartel where everybody agrees they won't sell for less than 30! (I'm up for that one!)

I probably paid more than the average for mine because I wanted the low mileage, someone else might pay over the odds because of some other feature.

So, I think I fairly provided an opinion as to a proposed selling price, but it's just a personal opinion.
