Driver door not locking
Discussion
Does it make the locking noise? - If so I suspect the cable that is attatched to the central locking solinoid needs adjusting - mine did this on the passenger side and it's very difficult to get it adjusted right - too tight and the door doesn't lock at all and to loose and you cannot open the door from the inside when locked on the out side - I would sugest a visit to the factory where they are used to it and it will probably take then 20 mins or so - yes it does men taking off the door panel.
If you are not getting the locking noise then it is probably the same as I had on mine. The wire from the actuator joins the wiring loom half way down the door and doesn't have a proper plug (the spades are just pushed into a plug on mine anyway).
I took the door panel off and pushed them back in and have had no problems since. Doesn't take that long, and would have taken less time if I had known about Justin's (Joust) guide to taking the door panel off.
Give me a shout if you want anymore details,
Rob.

Got it sorted ta, half way through taking door panel off all started working again!!
It's not that hard to take it apart.
If it's not "clunking" you may find that the wire that controls the solenoid has got chewed.
See www.lotus-elise.org.uk/noble/svc_door.htm for how to fix that.
