Fitting a 3.0 exhaust to a 2.5 noble whats involved ?

Hi,
Looking at fitting a standard 3.0 exhaust onto my car.Now I know the lambda sensor holes would have to be blocked but just wondering if anyone has fitted one to there car what work is involved to make it fit ?

Best if you use the 2.5 down pipe from the front (bulkhead) turbo as the flange is different. I think the same for the rear. Rest is fine.

It should already have the std Noble dent in the pipe as it passes the chassis by the drivers side rear wheel. I don't think mine did but it missed the chassis anyway.

Simple answer as I said above is "yes". But u do have to use a bit of the old exhaust to get it to fit to turbos.

so why cant the down pipes be used?. the 2.5s have the lambda sensors in the manifolds. can they just be plugged with a bolt. does anyone know the thread size of the lambda sensor?????

I think it's the exhaust to turbo doesn't match

Wouldn't make a difference as that's the other end of the turbo? It's the exhaust mounting on the turbo that is different as far as I know.

I assume Chris is buying your exhaust. Don't see why he doesn't just by the lot and just not fit down pipe. I was fortunate enough to be given my old 3R exhaust at the time from EDDIEC

The 3.0 exhausts doesn't give any performance increase as far as I'm aware but does give a better visual impact as the exhausts stick out the back. So shouldn't be an issue keeping part of the std exhaust?

I've just had a thought. Maybe it does fit. I just remember my garage say they had to use the 2.5 down pipe. I wonder if this is because of the position of the air con unit. So it is probably a routing of the down pipe issue.

I put a 3.0 exhaust on my 2.5 recently ,used 3.0 manifolds and down pipes but you have to make a different flange where the down pipe bolts on to the turbo housing . Made them out of 10mm stainless ,also replaced the cats with flexi pipes to stop the manifolds breaking .
