What happens when you have a wrapped manifold and develop a bad misfire, then keep driving...




This is the rear manifold, it was heat wrapped, the front was not and is fine. My misfire wasn't isolated to the rear bank, the whole ecu was shutting down for a second or two in tight corners because of a dodgy relay base on the bulkhead.
It's hard to see in the pictures but the pipes have actually ballooned and stretched with the heat before cracking.

Jesus that's disappointing, I'd hoped that stainless manifolds would truly be fit and forget but that one is utterly ruined, not just beginning to fail! I hear you about the wrap but it seems the rears suffer more with heat from what I gather.
Would ceramic coating inside be an idea for the next one?
