I had to leave my car out and exposed to the elements for a couple of weeks and when I started it yesterday the battery light remained on. So I left it running for ten minutes or so to warm up and hoped in doing so the light would go out. However all of sudden the engine stopped running and the battery was flat. This morning, with a little contortion of my left arm and a bit of luck, I managed to get my jump leads on from my battery boost pack and started her up again.
So now I leave it running to warm up again and bring the revs up. At 3000rpm the light goes out, then gradually with a bit more revving, it starts to go out around 2000rpm. Eventually no light at tick over and everything appears as normal.
So what's that all about then? Damp?confused

Sounds like it, was it out in the strong winds as that probably didn't help as it would push the rain in to all sorts of places.
