Relays and wiring for interior lights.

I've been doing a bit of reading as my knowledge of relays is a bit limited.

What I'm trying to do is to get the external side lights, interior and dash display lights to come on when you unlock/lock the doors for maybe 10-20 sec's, with a fade on/off.

Has anyone done this?

You already have an exit delay relay, its either the yellow or red one next to the relay box,you could use that or another one then one wire to the side light circuit then a couple of 12 volt diodes pointing the right way and job done.

Mine doesn't.

It doesn't even have a "You've left your lights on you dummy" chime/buzzer

That would suggest someone has been playing, have you looked to see if the relay is in place?

I don't think any have a buzzer to let you know that you have left the lights on. I have just bought a buzzer from CBS that makes a sound when indicators are flashing, which im going to wire up to tell me the lights are on.

I think they were only added after a certain year. Same as the front interior light - mine only has the one behind/between the seats.

Adrian - don't think mine has the coloured relay, if that's what you mean.

Little project for the winter though
