You may want to check that they're correctly adjusted to start with.
If it's a 3R (with faired in lights), you'll need to break the silicone seal at the back of the lamp unit to get to the bulbs. Obviously, this will need to be re-sealed carefully to prevent water ingress.

Thanks for the feedback. Also changing the subject from headlights, I started it up last night and it cut out on me a couple of times. Putting my foot on the gas made no difference, and the rev counter kept flickering from 1000rpm to 5000rpm. It eventually corrected itself. Is this due to the cold weather?
mines is running very well in this cold weather and it's not garaged at night.
Be aware, it took me a very long time to remove the back of one headlight cover to change a bulb. If your going to do both then I would recommend getting the other bulbs first and do it all in one job. It's a total pain in the backside.
Begs the question why a nice tidy rubber seal and clips wouldn't have done the same job ?
