Le Man Classic 2014 - Parade laps
Discussion
i was chatting with Ann-Marie of Speed Chills, one of the better camping sites at LM/LMC about my group booking for the Classic 2014 and asked about how to get on the parade laps before the races (usually at some speed amongst all sorts of classic GT40's etc behind a rapid pace car).
Apparently your car has to be pre-1966, or one of the "Happy Few"
Alas Nobles do not appear on the Happy Few list from 2012, BUT, if there is an application from the Noble Owners Club or Noble itself, there is a (small) chance we can be added to the list - if not in 2014, then maybe 2016.
TVR's of any year, make model are included as are Nissan GTR, Honda NSX, caterhams, all porsches (inc 997 !!!), mazda mx5/rx7, all ferraris. Therefore, I cant see why Nobles shouldnt be allowed in.
i dont know what the cost is and by all accounts you then have to display your car in a certain place, but as far as i can tell it gets you access to more areas etc so worth doing for that if not attacking the dunlop curves and hooning down the mulsanne straight....
I'm happy to try and assist getting a club application together (via speedchills) if enough people are going to the Classic, or if we cant do it through the Noble owners club or Noble itself, I can try to get an application together for the small car club i am involved in which has tvr's and other "qualifying" vehicles to see if we can get in that way.
Any ideas/comments ?
mike.
